Victoria Day
On Saturday night me and my native friends decided to go to Niagara falls to see the firework. All of us were exciting about it. We made plan which was leave the ontario at 12 PM at Finch station. We were 6 people and 2 of my friends decided to bring the car. At 12 PM 5 of us were beside the finch station but one of our friends was sleeping. After called him many times he picks up the phone and we came there around 12:45 PM. We left the Toronto at 1:00 PM. The street and highway was very crowded and most of the people were leaving the city. We were on the way like 4 hours. We reached to Niagara around 5:15 PM. All of us were tired from traffic. After that we stayed in the car to take a rest. After 1 hour we left the cars and then we went beside the fall. It was a amazing view. After that we went to Casino and we played over there. I lost 30 box and my friends also lost their money. It was around 10 PM. People start to fire work. it was unbelievable the sky was shinny because of the fire work. All the people were happy and they were dancing. It was around 1 hour fire work from Canada and USA. After firework we were really tired. It was rush over, then we decided to sleep in the car. In the morning around 9 AM we left the Niagara fall. It wasn’t too much traffic we reached to Toronto arounf 11:15.

I'm sure the fireworks at Niagara Falls were quite spectacular. And of course, it is always a part of University Life to take a road trip and sleep in the car.
If you want to see a bit of authentic Canadian culture on that theme you can look at a comedy movie called Highway 61 (originally made in 1991). It stars Don McKellar, who is a famous Canadian writer, producer, and actor, who lives downtown in Kensington Market (see the link on our blog page). In the movie, a small-town Canadian travels through the U.S. on the way to New Orleans, looking for the roots of rock n' roll. The movie is probably in the SMIL, but it's also probably in Rogers or Blockbuster too.
